    Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) Scholarship

    The AGRTP Scholarship for the 2024/2025 academic year offers a remarkable opportunity for qualified individuals to engage in advanced research at the prestigious University of Adelaide.

    This scholarship supports both local and international scholars pursuing postgraduate research degrees, including Masters by Research and Doctoral programs, across a broad range of disciplines.

    Recipients receive comprehensive financial support, covering tuition fees, living stipends, and additional expenses, allowing them to focus entirely on their research endeavors.

    Benefits of the AGRTP Scholarship

    Financial Support:

    Full-time RTP recipients receive an annual stipend of $34,210, subject to annual adjustments.

    Part-time students receive $17,105 annually. Indigenous full-time students are entitled to $50,291 annually, with half-time Indigenous students receiving $25,145.50 annually.

    It is advisable to seek independent financial guidance as stipends may be subject to taxation.

    Educational Support:

    Australian students receive financial aid through an RTP Fee Offset, which covers their tuition expenses, whereas international students with an RTP Scholarship are exempt from paying tuition fees.

    Additionally, the University of Adelaide Research Scholarship recipients are relieved of tuition costs.

    Additional Allowances:

    International students are provided with compulsory Medibank Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), offering coverage for up to 27 months for Research Masters and up to 48 months for Research Doctorate programs.

    Both domestic and international students may be eligible for relocation allowances, with domestic students receiving up to AUD 1,000 and international students up to AUD 1,500 to aid with relocation expenses.

    Visa application fees and medical examination costs are the responsibility of international candidates.

    Eligible students may also receive an early submission allowance equivalent to up to two months’ stipend upon early thesis submission, with payment processed within four weeks of submission.

    Eligibility Requirements

    Enrollment Requirements: Aspiring individuals must meet specific admission criteria for a full-time Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at the University of Adelaide.
